About Unstuck Project

Navigating our careers is hard.

We no longer live in a world where we work in the same role at the same company for the majority of our lives. Most of us will switch roles and industries multiple times over the course of our careers.

The problem is - no one really teaches us how to navigate our careers. Some people find great communities, organizations, resources, mentors, or peers to mold their paths.

But some of us just feel lost.

So why not learn from the paths of others?

With Unstuck Project, I profile the non-linear career trajectories of regular people like you and me. The goal is to showcase how others have navigated their careers so we can learn from their stories. What were the defining moments? What people or experiences had the greatest impact on their trajectories?

At the end of the day, there’s no one way to navigate our careers. There’s no right or wrong answers. And all of us have moments of doubt along the way.

If these stories inspire you or help you feel less alone on your journey, feel free to comment and let me know. :) #validation

About Me

I’m Laura.

Even after 15 years in the “real world” of work, I’m still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up.

I think that’s why I’ve consistently worked in spaces that help others come to realizations about their paths. From study abroad to edtech, I’ve been a huge proponent of transformative, immersive, and project-based learning experiences.

Because how are we supposed to know what we want to do without hands-on experiences? Without exploration?

I believe we need to be taught how to follow our curiosity. I believe there should be more resources for career navigation and transition for all stages of our career. I believe we can do and be more than one thing.

But more than anything, I believe in stories. Unstuck project started because I wanted to answer the question “how do you choose?” when it comes to our careers.

Hearing these stories truly helped me. By publishing them here, I hope they’ll help you too.
